Background
Michael joined Open Prairie Ventures in 2006 as general partner and manager of the OPV Kansas City office. Previously, as the fund manager of the State of Kansas $17 million technology venture fund, Michael developed unique experience in working with seed and early stage information technology companies. He currently serves on the board of Cernium, ISSI and kozoru, a deep web search technology company.
Michael has also played an integral role in developing Kansas' capital formation legislation and a statewide network of angel investors. He also was the member representative to the National Venture Capital Association and Mid-America Healthcare Investors Network, and served on the board for the Invest Midwest Form.
Michael was named one of Ingram's Magazine 2006 "40 Under Forty" Class. Michael is active in the Kansas City community, co-hosting a local radio show on entrepreneurship, and directs the Kansas City Kellogg Alumni association.
