Open Prairie's Founder and Managing Partner, J.M. "Jim" Schultz was recently interviewed by RFD Radio's DeLoss Jahnke to highlight the unique nature of the newly announced Open Prairie Rural Opportunities Fund and what it means for investment in rural America.

The Open Prairie Rural Opportunities Fund is a targeted $100 million private equity fund licensed by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) as a Rural Business Investment Company (RBIC). The fund is the nation's first RBIC to bring together investors from the Farm Credit system, commercial and community banks, strategic agriculture organizations and family offices. The Open Prairie Rural Opportunities Fund will focus on providing debt and equity capital of $2 - $10 million to growth and later-stage companies throughout the agribusiness value chain. The fund continues to raise capital towards its $100 million target and is actively engaged in evaluating quality investment opportunities.
